Shower and birthing
Our baby shower was today and my goodness, I'm exhausted. It was wonderful seeing everyone and once again I'm really touched at how generous our friends and family are. This kid is set up in style now for quite some time, and I still get to look forward to getting smothered in gifts from my very excited co-workers. Sorting through all of these clothes and toys and accessories today got me even MORE excited to meet her, if that's even possible.
And in a related topic, I learned today that my birth mom (who came down from Minnesota with my half-sister, yay!) had both me and her next, my half-brother, three weeks early. Her last, my half-sister, was one week early. Now, I know daughters don't always take after their mothers in pregnancy and labor. But her pregnancies were reported as being easy, just as this one has been for me. I'd like to inherit her short labors (starting with me at around seven hours, the last being around two). Coming that early though? Ah! I'm happy to have all of these things in place now, that's for sure.

Super Baby
The movements this little girl creates are amazing. This morning she did a total roll while Art had his hand on my abdomen which elicited a stunned, "woah!" from him. It really is incredible the detail that can be felt and the power of some of the kicks. Supposedly space is going to become more cramped and these movements won't be felt as strong soon, so I'll enjoy them while they aren't up to my rib cage yet!
